Casting News
miraes choicePlease let this casting rumor be true. My birthday isn’t that far away–lets consider it a birthday present from the Gods of Kdrama. I know I don’t usually like to depend on people ‘looking favorable on’ casting news, but this time I just can’t help myself. The news currently buzzing around is that Lee Dong-gun may finally be coming back to drama-land. Who is this you ask? And why should you care?
Well, you don’t have to care, but for some reason, I do. The only thing I’ve seen Lee Dong-gun in was his last work, When It’s At Night, which he was great in, and since then (and after Googling his sad personal history) I’ve had a soft spot in my Kdrama loving heart for him.

When he left the army last year I had hopes that he’d jump right back into acting, but after a few ‘looking favorably on’-s and a change of agency, he still has yet to make his move. Which makes me sad for him. And even those news articles stopped coming a while ago. So when I woke up the other morning to this possibility, I was pretty excited. Means he’s still out there right? He hasn’t given up on acting.
And he’s not the only thing to look forward to in this show. Also ‘looking favorably on’? Yoon Eun-hye. I think she’s a great actress and ends up having great chemistry, whoever her partner might be (more good news for Lee Dong-gun)
Downside? Besides Coffee Prince? Yeah…she doesn’t pick the best projects. So that doesn’t bode well for our story. But the story is being written by the same writer as King2Hearts, which was awesome, so maybe it will all balance out.
The show, Mi-rae’s Choice, is a time traveling story (umm…wasn’t that last year’s theme?) where the heroine goes back into time to give advice to her younger self. Oh noes! Watch out for that magical incense Mi-rae, those side effects are a  bitch. In the story she’s a writer for a broadcast station and the hero is an announcer. Seriously. You’re getting awfully close to Nine there…
This casting had better become final quickly as it’s currently scheduled to follow Good Doctor. Let’s all cross our fingers for me….I mean Lee Dong-gun…that this all works out for him!
