Fudge that, T.O.P’s new video was released! G-Dragon has been a Musical Monday several times, and lately, Seungri and Taeyang have even made it to the list—so now that my particular favorite, T.O.P, finally came out with a new video, you didn’t think I was going to throw him aside for someone else, no matter how much I’d worked on it?

I loved this song from the very first couple of beats, even before he started to sing. I think it helped that I heard the music first, and then the video because—if I’d seen the video first? It may have taken me a bit longer to love the song.

Oh, who am I kidding? Considering the fact that just the sound of his voice turns me into a giant puddle of goo, video or no, I was going to love this song. Thank goodness it didn’t take the powers of persuasion…

Back to the video. Which is… interesting. Crazy. Fun. How do they come up with these things? It was like a collection of stream of consciousness vignettes of creepy dreams. One of those dreams where you wake up and think—I remember monkeys—and they had a microphone. Oh right—and then I was on a motorcycle in the desert with a giant baby.Screenshot 2013-11-17 at 6.28.00 PM

My favorites sections would have to be 1) the part with the running skeletons. I like the camera work—especially when he starts to run along with it. And 2) the baby on the motorcycle sequence especially when the baby reaches out and grabs T.O.P’s arm and he slaps it away—it’s these tiny little details which shows a lot of actual thought and work went into this.

I don’t know if I love it. I know I’m supposed to love it and think it’s irreverent. But, of all the things this video and song could have been, I can’t really complain can I?

T.O.P, Doom Dada
