Musical Monday: The Rain Edition

Lets make it Rain up in here. Laugh. Rain has made his long awaited (for some) comeback after his military service. Now, I’ve never been a Rain fan before, his music tends to be a little too R&B for my taste. However, I did like his performance at the MAMA’s (his outfit notwithstanding). So when Cherry told me his first song was out and she didn’t hate it, I was willing to check it out.

And you know what? I don’t hate it either.

Of course I didn’t love it, but it’s not R&B, so I don’t hate it. I’m not even sure what sound this was, but I liked the earthiness and the whole sections withthe La-La-La’s. The song is interesting and honestly, I found the video weirdly fascinating. I couldn’t stop watching. I don’t know if it’s because I was studying Rain and contemplating the furor around him, or the “I’m so awesome” tone. It was probably more the questions. Why does he have a dead animal hanging in the back of his truck? Why does he bring that massive boom-box wherever he goes? Why did the truck turn into a monster-chicken truck?
