Guess who’s got two thumbs and is going to Kcon?

(In case you don’t know that would be Crazy’s BFF Cherry Cordial.)

Guess who is actually speaking on panels? Yep, me again!

I’m so excited. Okay, that’s a lie–don’t tell the organizers of Kcon, but I’m incredibly nervious. A couple of months ago I was approached to see if I would like to participate. In the heat of the moment I said, “Yes! Of Course! I’d be honored!” Then when they said, “Great, we’ve signed you up for two panels!” And then it got real. Umm….I’m going to be talking in front of who knows how many people? Eek! What was I thinking? Oh right, I was blinded by the “Somebody knows who I am! And think’s I’m a credible speaker!” My ego is nothing if not easily poofed up.

So now I have 2 months to become an expert in Kdrama. What do you think? Can I do it? I’m fairly good at faking it, and I’ll have the support of Cherry Cordial (who is officially part of my entourage) so I’m thinking it’ll be fine. The panels I’ll be speaking on are:

OST: Where K-Pop and KDrama Meet
Women In Kdrama

Anyone out there reading this on those panels? Let me know!

So, lets get back to Kcon, which takes place in August 9-10. Check out the trailer they put together:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FytqRYdGWfc]

Usually Kcon ends in a giant concert, but this year, they are planning two full nights of music. So far they have announced that they are being headlined by Girls Generation and BTS (woot, BTS) and CNBLue will be performing as well. Yay! They are great live, I’d love to see them again! As the dates get closer, more of the music line up will be revieled.

On a personal note, this will be the first time Cherry and I meet in person. We are so freaking excited!!! (Yes, that warrented 3 exclaimation marks.) Since I’ve never been to LA before, we’ve decided to stay extra and turn this into a vacation. I look forward to checking out their Ktown, which I hear is really big! My friend Kate will also be joining us, as will The Mystical Being of Unicorns (Cherry’s niece).

Is there anyone else going to Kcon or going to be in the LA area afterwards? Would it be worthwhile to try to meet up? Let me know if you’re interested!
