This post on IU is expressly for Pamela who kept the Operation Kdrama Chat drama discussion alive while 2 admins and a moderator were all otherwise occupied at KCON. She sent me a note via Kakao: I know you probably didn’t take pictures of IU, but I have been sending you occasional mental waves of envy.
Pamela, don’t worry girl, we’ve got you covered.
She’s right, I”m not actually the hugest IU fan out there. She had a great voice, you can just tell she is personally really sweet, I loved her storyline in Dream High, but her music just didn’t really do it for me. However, a concert is different. Going and seeing these people live, adds a happy sheen of lovelyness to everything. Even if you may not be a fan, during that time when they are on stage, singing and dancing their heart out, you can’t dislike them.
It just isn’t possible. Now, if you’re lucky, you’ll come out of the experience you’ll come out of the experience a fan (this happened to me and VIXX). While I may not still be a big fan of IU, as her music is not really my cup of tea, I had a lot of fun. Her first song, was her hit from last year, and I love the vintage sound to it, and the dancers around her were great. This was definitely my most favorite song that she sang.
At one point she was joined on stage to sing a duet with a member of one of the boy bands–I’d tell you who it was–but I don’t actually know. The two of them together were very cute. (Turns out its Teen Top.)
One thing we noticed thanks to IU is that the girls have little pockets sewn into their outfits to hold onto the mike packs. During the concert I thought she was just wearing a butt-bow, but luckily, Cherry Cordial clued me in.
So Pamela, and other IU fans, I hope you like her pictures! She is so freaking pretty.
Here is her set filmed by YanisRei:
