I feel like I’ve been really cranky about music lately. Last week it was BigBang (although I will admit I now enjoy listening to Bae Bae—listening but not, let me repeat, not, watching the video), and don’t get me started about BTS’s new song (gasp! The fangirl horrors!).
So, putting myself in research mode, I mucked through a lot of, well, let’s say crap, before coming across this song.
Lim Kim has been on the radar since her first release (check it here) and I was excited to try something new from her. This song was a little unexpected, as it was very different from her debut. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked it, but the more I listened, the more the song and video stuck with me.
You know what I like about Lim Kim? Even though her music is different from itself, it still has a unique quality which, even better, holds it apart from other artists in the genre. This is not your typical Kpop girl group music. It’s catchy, off beat, and interesting.
I’m just trying to figure out if she’s actually supposed to be a cat here in this video or if she’s a metaphorical cat. Either way, it’s a good time, and I’m definitely going to have to buy this.
Lim Kim, Awoo
