T.O.P Loves Me, And Now I Have Proof

secret message

Remember a while ago, what seems like a very long while ago, news came out that T.O.P was going to be doing a drama? One of those joint Korea/Japan dramas or movies? (Think Jaejoong’s beautifully shot Heaven’s Postman.)

Well, this drama of T.O.P’s was very exciting to us fans as he just doesn’t do dramas, he’s more of a movie man. There was a couple of years ago where the fandom was filled with rumors that he was signing onto a Korean remake of Absolute Boyfriend but, any real fan would tell you, this was just not going to happen. There is no way that the man who wears a long-sleeved shirt underneath t-shirts beneath the heavy concert lights would ever–ever–act in a show where the hero shows up half-naked. No way in heck. And while we love our heroes shirtless, as BigBang fans, we’ve come to the realization that T.O.P’s  need to remain overly-clothed is just adorable.

Nope, the sum total of T.O.P’s drama experience is his small role as an assassin on Iris (a show which not even my love for T.O.P can get me to watch) and I Am Sam from way back in the day. So the news that he was coming to TV? Multiple hours of sitting there, looking at his face–and more importantly–listening to him speak? It was like a gift from the kdrama gods.

And the fact that it’s going to be a romance doesn’t hurt either.

I’d actually forgotten about the show until T.O.P took a brief break from his incessant art and furniture uploads to share some drama love on his Instagram.

and this weekend he posted little teaser videos:

Sure do wish I knew what he was saying! But from them we can see that they are really going for the arty look that was so effective in Heaven’s Postman.

So why is this proof that T.O.P loves me? Uhhhhh….silly question. See the date?

That’s my mother flippin’ birthday! See? This drama is a gift directly from T.O.P to me. Yep, me alone. What else could it mean? Having the show premier on such an important day? It’s so obvious guys, I can’t believe you didn’t realize this… unless you forgot when my birthday was. It had better not be that option because 1) I’d be sad and 2) it means you only have 2 weeks to find that perfect gift. Of course it won’t be as good as the gift T.O.P is giving me, but that’s to be expected.

I will say this: someone had better sub this or heads will roll! Rule #1 of Stephanie’s World. Thou shall not get in the way of Stephanie’s Bias enjoyment.

Who else is looking forward to this?

I am SOOOOO looking forward to TOP’s drama!!! I sincerely hope it’s good. I remember feeling the same way about Rain’s comeback (and the disaster that was My Lovely Girl) and Hyun Bin’s drama (the disappointing Hyde, Jekyll, I). So, I’m praying to the drama gods that TOP is backed up by great writers, a good director and talented actor/colleagues.
