Junsu and YG Sitting in a Tree

Is it just me or does it seem like Junsu is getting awfully buddy-buddy with YG as of late? Examples. Earlier this year, YG darling and Epik High front man, Tablo joined Junsu for the lead song on his Flower album and then, returning the YG favor, Junsu was featured on one of  tracks on Psy’s new album. Unfortunately, this was not one of the songs they made a video for, as how much would we love for the American Gangnam Style-lookyloos to be exposed to the wonder that is Junsu? Could you imagine the run on Junsu that would happen??

Add that to the recent interview the fearless leader of YG did where he talked about how much he likes Junsu and the sound of his voice. Uhhhh…the makers of cool, YG, loves Junsu? Damn straight! Although him saying he’d heard Junsu for the first time when he listened to Psy’s song made me question how much he pays attention to his own artists. Ummmm….you didn’t listen to the song your Tablo contributed to? Or, I don’t know, gave Junsu a listen before giving the okay for first Tablo to work with him, and then PSY, two of your biggest names?

I don’t know about you guys, but that just seems like bad cake.

Either way though, I love that Junsu is getting his due, that every time he works with YG, it’s like a little smack at SM. That it’s like bwahahaha SM–your mortal enemy is not adhering to your JYJ blacklist. The idea that, if Junsu keeps getting YG’s cool seal of approval, sooner or later, this is going to break down even more barriers and possibly then a TV producer will be brave enough to cast him in a variety program.

Come on, who doesn’t want to see Duckbutt on Running Man??

So all this Junsu love? On top of the JYJ law passing this week? Let’s all hope that things continue to go Junsu’s way. And let’s hope it continues to go his way before he has to go to the military….

Tablo and Psy are the only two YG artists who don’t have to get permission from YG to do guest appearances or have guests on their music. So it’s entirely possible that YG never heard Flower and only heard Dream when it was time for its release.
