Are you ready for some football? And by football, we mean podcasting. And by podcasting, we mean chatting about kdramas! Good on us, right? This episode we are talking about what we’re watching, and that’s it, because we’ve watched so much! Cherry’s checking in on all the new dramas, Stephanie landed in a weird, and sometimes uncomfortable, place, and we’re both super excited about Signal.

I was laughing out loud when Stephanie said that the one guy was a creepier and said, “He’s no Heathcliff!” But then by Cherry’s comment realized that HE IS a Heathcliff.
I totally agree with Cherry, Heahtcliff is no hero. I love Wuthering Heights, but I see Heathcliff as the “hero” turned villain. He might have started out okay… but he is the story’s true villain, if you ask me.
On that note, this conversation got me thinking… Why are there so many characters in Kdrama that are total jerks and maybe even bad guys that others love so much? Those characters that hedge up to or even cross the thin line of being strong or just being abusive. I couldn’t stand Playful Kiss for this reason, he was so like a semi-abusive boyfriend that I once had. It seems like you ladies have talked about a lot more of these Heathcliff like characters, that go down in history as the hero, but really they are more of a villain. The “sexy rapists” or just plain jerks…that others love to love, and I just hate. Thoughts?
Also, I am now SUPER excited to watch Signal!! I love the movie Frequency and now that I know you ladies like it… I am going to have to try this drama.
RIGHT? Now that I know, he is TOTALLY a Heathcliff. And the second part sounds like a total listener question. I’ll add it in! Lastly, GO GO GO watch Signal and even more importantly, then come back and report.
Yes! That was a question. LOL. Thank you!!
And I am back to report in… *Solute Unni-nim* I watched the first episode of Signal tonight. (I shouldn’t have I am watching 12 other dramas right now) and I STINKING loved it!! SSSSOOOO amazing! I loved the story, acting and music. Can’t wait for more!
YAY! I’m so glad you liked it although it shouldn’t be a surprise, you seem like a lady of superior taste. 😉
