Khottie of the Week: Zico

Khottie of the Week/ Music

/sound of a chair being pushed back.  “Hello, my name is Leila, and I have a rapper problem…”

I was beyond excited when I saw that Zico was turning 24 this week.  Since, I discovered Kpop at right about the same time that Zico released a ton of solo and collaboration work, I actually fell in love with him separate from Block B.

I cannot resist a smart, funny guy.

It doesn’t hurt that he’s handsome.tumblr_o1gy0wue691qjqfioo1_5008af8339de510c888b22567db1521d8fablock-b-cute-pretty-sweet-favim-com-36089645d882c208c6fbaf6e25ed1c02609e304

He’s ridiculously talented too.  Watch him write a song, live, on the show Talent for Sale (starts at the 27:37 mark).

I have a low tolerance for super gangster swag, but when Zico does it, I just laugh.  Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve had this dream…

One of my quirks is that I am super picky about hair.  Hair will ruin a MV for me, and maybe even my opinion of an idol for a while.  I cannot tolerate a bad hair concept.  Yet, somehow, Zico escapes this prohibition as well.  On him, these hairs styles are just, “He looks cool/adorable/artsy.”

And with all the crazy artsy stuff he does, you wouldn’t think he’d pull off elegant so well.

But I love it when he lets go of the swag and goes into soft, fluffy, idol mode.22cb641343255946dab2a906c32ae23etumblr_inline_o85bcjyb5e1u2lbpm_5004-20_zico

But what we’re all here for is his “crazy sexy” mode.e412203b43fb3cabcd189fac9175ecfctumblr_inline_nt1481oy0x1rea7hl_500 cbd6be0d34617a81ad313c9c2d59254f 54ab11ecdef2bf88c7fe29e3fc274b32

Join me in wishing Zico a happy birthday!  He’s Kchat Jjigae legal!  Woo!

I have a soft spot in my heart for Zico.

When he was producing on ‘show me the money’, he songs were always the most musically engaging.

I say this with love in my heart, but he stylist do make a lot of questionable choices with his hair. 🙂

    Haha ‘Kchatjjigae legal’….love it!!!

There was a really great article somewhere – I’ve been trying to find it – about how Zico’s style of hip-hop is more accessible and melodic and has done a lot to bring people (including women) into the genre.

    The hair… Yeah, the hair…
