Hoshi: Next Stop Super Hero?

Casting News

Here’s some casting news/new variety show information for you….or more for me (unless SaraG insists on making me share, which technically she should as there are two cast members in there she loves compared to my one), Amateur Heroes

There isn’t much information out there about this show, with the exception of the name — except, you know, the title is only a working title. Amateur Heroes‘s sketchy premise is the idea that anyone can be a hero… so what, is it like hero training? A hero competition? Are they going to try to be heroes in the comic book sense, or is it going to be like everyday heroes, people just learning to do good? As this is a variety show, despite what we see in these promotional pictures, it could probably go either way.

If we don’t know much about the premise why am I so excited about this show? Since you don’t spot in that promotional picture, I’ll spell it out for you in one word. HOSHI! Don’t know who Hoshi is, you say? Awww… I feel bad for you, this means you obviously need to go through SaraG’s patented Kpop Band Member Tutoring Sessions! Hoshi is one of my favorite members of Seventeen! (My second favorite outside of Woozi, of course.)

Since I’ve been taking my Seventeen lessons, I’ve gotten to love Hoshi more and more — he just seems to be so adorable, I want to pinch his cheeks and keep him in my pocket, and feed him snacks. If again, you don’t know what I’m talking about, then look at this and TELL me you don’t fee the same.

To further prove my point, I sent this gif to SaraG and this was the VERY conversation we had:

SEE?? Case rested.

Now, as much as I’m pretty sure I could just watch an hour of Hoshi being cute, there are other members of the program, the other one of note being Zion.T (number two on SaraG’s will watch for list). Holy smokes, guys! I’m not sure why I’m so surprised to see these guys on a show together but, while Hoshi is an idol and is on this expected side of being cast on variety, Zion.T  shocks me a little bit. He seems too… cool to be doing variety? Not that Hoshi’s not cool, but Zion.T just seems to have those auras of ‘I’m almost an alternative rocker’ vibes to him. Yes, he did KCon (a couple of times, right?) but for some reason, I just never thought of him joining the mainstream?

But then again, Sleepy did Laws of the Jungle, right?

There are other people who are going to be on the show, of course–although again, I could probably just watch an hour of Hoshi and Zion.T. The cast actually appears to be quite large.

Hong Jin Kyung, the only female member of the group will act as leader, the others are Din Din (no idea), Woo Hyun (awww… I’ve seen him play a hapless side character in a bunch of dramas), Ahn Jung Hwan (former soccer player), Yoo Byung Jae (SNL Korea and Flower Crew–I will have to find out if he is one of the ones who were mean to Jungkook before passing judgement on him as I’m an infamous grudge holder), and Sam Harrington (variety regular).

While the only ones here I’m interested in are Hoshi (obs), Zion.T (just to see how he is) and Hong Jin Kyung, I’m pretty sure I’ll definitely be checking it out…as a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure SaraG will insist upon it.

Yay Hoshi!
