When thinking about all of the ways to pay tribute to a dear friend on her birthday when you have access to a long-standing and delightfully supportive blog, It becomes super obvious that you should do a post. When said friend is the owner and operator of the blog it gets a little more challenging…I mean, I can’t exactly write something and schedule it in advance, she’ll get a notification and the whole thing will be ruined. Luckily, it’s my flex day and I have a quiet moment to put a few words to e-paper.
To Stephanie on your birthday,
Over the last two years, you have not only given me an outlet through which I can share my enthusiasm for music and the talent that produces it, but you have also wormed your way into the very fabric of my life. You are a constant in my days and a go to when I have something funny, sad, lovely, or frustrating to share. Our friendship started with Kdrama and Kpop, but it definitely goes well beyond those confines. So for you, on this very special days, I have a few things that I am putting into the universe for the next year.
May your mornings be smooth and easy with time to apply your makeup and enough rest that you don’t really need it.
May you get the slightly grumpy but always on time bus driver on a more routine basis.
May your ships always sail…and I mean that in the biggest fanfic way possible.
May you always accidentally get the perfect hair color and may it always come with a frosty or ice cream while you let it set.
May this year bring limited cringe-worthy aegyo from all of your biases. I say limited and not none because you don’t know how good you have it until you have something to compare it to.
May you have the absolute trip of a lifetime in March, but come to find out that you get more trips just like it throughout your life.
May you have the time, money, and opportunity to see every group, band, or solo artist on your list in 2019.
May they come to Denver (that one is a smidge selfish of me, but it counts for you too).
May you grow to love R&B (also selfish)
May you continue to love your job and always feel appreciated and loved there.
May life never get boring, but you get boring moments that allow you to slow down and take it all in.
May you sleep in on Saturdays and then have time to read.
May you continue to get healthier.
May your skin always look this great…even in dry Colorado.
May you always wear bright lipstick.
May you smile and laugh a lot.
And finally, may you always, always continue to be as passionate about life as you have been to this point. It’s inspiring for those of us too lazy to start things from scratch and build a family based solely on a whim and the love of something specific.
