Stephanie should apologize for the following:
  • Anyone who listened and was bummed out. Not the intention but sometimes true man… its so…truthy.
  • Shes been feeling bad about the serial killer guy, maybe he hears this and feels sad she keeps calling him a serial killer but after a lot of thought, she realized she doesn’t just think you’re a serial killer because you look like one, its also because you act like one.
  • The serial killer guy, its the CHARACTER she wants to run away from in terror because he’s going to kill someday, not you. She’s sure you’re lovely.
Thanks for listening! See you next time.

    Hi guys!

I don’t know if I should make the first part of this comment because I’m not going to try to convince Cherry to keep going with Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, but i wanted to say that whoever wrote the review that you read completely overstated the so called revenge plot. Bai Qian got her memories back a couple of episodes before the end of the series, and when she did she went straight to the palace, snatched back what was hers (not sure if you got that far to know what was taken from her) then left. That’s it. Any ‘revenge’ was just Ye Hua once and for all laying out all of the mis-deeds that the girl had done and getting justice for the people she’d hurt. I won’t go on (even though I love the third part for watching the two of them come together again, and the many cute moments, and a third person who i don’t think you got to meet) because I get the other reasons for not wanting to watch. Especially if you’re wanting light and fluffy.

Speaking of not watching, Stephanie I totally get what you mean about My Roommate is a Detective. i was so annoyed by the girl and really didn’t get why he let her get away with being terrible. There’s a Youtuber who reviews Chinese shows (Avenue X if you’re wondering. I think someone mentioned her in one of the Untamed episodes. She used to work in the Chinese entertainment industry, and her videos are in English) who did a first impression after she watched a couple of episodes. She said she thought the girl was thrown in to appease censors so that the show could move forward. Her final review said the English title only makes since if the two guys where supposed to have been roommates. As you mentioned, I really like the costumes and enjoy the mixed use of modern clothing for the time and traditional clothing. What i enjoy the most is that the cases aren’t drawn out. They solve a new case within two episodes.s There is a bit of gay bating, but i enjoy the friendship between the male leads.

Speaking of censorship, I’ve heard that China only allows productions based on either books or previous shows, but it won’t allow the use of certain types of content/characters. So they’ll have to change say witches into aliens or something, which is why I think the Guardian show is different from the book you read. I didn’t find it that confusing, so I think maybe you did miss something in the first episode. Maybe because you were expecting it to be like the book.

Thanks for the clarification on Why R U. I kept wondering why they kept showing Tutor and Fighter. Especially when the director said they worked hard on how to give the two main couples equal time. At one point i did wonder if it was affected by Covid because I noticed that the side characters seemed to have disappeared too.

Well, I’m sure that’s a big enough wall of text for this comment. Good luck with everything going on at the moment Stephanie. I hope things die down soon enough for you to begin working again soon.

Right on with what Angela said! Also, I’ve read somewhere that in shows that had a supernatural reason for something occurring and it’s within a recognizable time line (the Qing dynasty or what have you), the supernatural aspect has to be either shown to be trickery or explained by science. Which is why the hero of my new Love-of-a-Show, Miss Truth, is always shown as saying “I don’t believe in ghosts, I only believe in science!”
