Blast from the past, my past, as I wrote this post about Seo Bok a while ago and realized I’ve never posted it. Probably old news but it still excites me so here we go!
Hello, there new Gong Yoo Movie! Or, hello there Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum Human/Clone buddy flic! Aren’t you just the thing I didn’t know I needed in my life??
I saw the trailer for this movie just the other day and nearly fell over. This thing looks like it’s going to be so much fun! Action, adventure, Gong Yoo, Gong Yoo kicking ass. I mean, what more could you want? Not sure why I’m so excited? Well, you probably haven’t seen the trailer yet. Check it out:
Now you see what I’m talking about right? You know how movie theaters are trying to get you to come in by allowing you to rent the whole movie theater? You know how I swore I wouldn’t hit a movie theater again until… well ever? Well if they were to allow me to watch this movie alone in a theater? Well, I’d do it, in a heartbeat. Sure, I’d be double masking it the whole time? But I think it’s a fair trade-off.
Perhaps I’m just looking for something to be excited bout as it’s been a while, but this is the horse I put my cart behind so giddy up!
Here is the actual premise of the movie:
Seo Bok is the story revolving around terminally ill former intelligence agent Ki Heon, who encounters genetically mutated human clone Seo Bok, who holds the secret of eternal life. Ki Heon is tasked with the safe transportation of mankind’s first human clone as his last mission They become caught in dangerous situations as several forces aim to take the clone for their own agenda.
Okay, anyone else think the casting for this is perfect? Park Bo Gum as an otherworldly clone?
Gong Yoo as an action hero…I mean government agent with a soul who can also kick ass?
I have a feeling I’m going to watch this movie and cry, this is not going to end well for Gong Yoo, I can feel it, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s not going to be from the cancer.
And I think I’m okay with that too.
This makes me think of his other movie The Suspect or what’s that movie where Clive Owen has to save the last pregnant lady? (Answer: Children of Men) As I’m a big fan of both movies, this is in no way a deterrent.
Seo Bok is due to hit the screen on December 2nd, here’s hoping it goes to instant or near-instant (legal) streaming.
