Happy Christmas Eve to all of our Christmas celebrating readers and Happy Thursday to those that don’t celebrate it. Thursdays are a pretty solid day regardless.
Every year one of the most important decisions we make is where and with whom to spend the holidays – regardless of holiday or time of year, it’s a big decision. You don’t want to offend the bio fam if you really just want to chill with your chosen fam. You don’t want to leave anyone out of that stray friend party even if you desperately wanted to keep it small and intimate, and you always, without a doubt, will think of someone you missed on that invite list at the very last minute. It’s all very stressful.
This year, of course, looks a little different. You should be keeping it tight and small. You shouldn’t include anyone outside of your usual household – especially if your household has anyone a bit more susceptible to illness or at risk of exposure. But this doesn’t mean that we can’t all retreat into our fantasies and daydream about our perfect holiday set up – I swear we’ll have it easier next year. Lucky for us, Kpop is literally made to build the foundations on which we develop whole worlds for our own personal enjoyment.
Enter, the Boyz. This year for Christmas they put out the upbeat and fluffy track Christmassy and through the MV each and every one of the eleven members pleads with us to spend the holiday school dance just with him. And my answer to each and every one of them is yes. I simply adore how they manage to both compete for our love and turn around and help each other out in popping the question. It’s like, look, if I can’t have you, you have to be with one of my boys…or boyz. For someone that isn’t particularly competitive in love or games, this speaks to me. They can’t help but be supportive and this is one of the main reasons I love them.
So if you’re feeling a bit let down by what the 2020 holiday season has to offer, watch this video, listen to this song, and then close your eyes really tight and just imagine how great it will be when The Boyz show up at your door to escort you to the school dance.
