I realize that I schedule these posts to pop onto the blog very early in the morning, but I typically write them in the middle of the day…I try to get them done on a Friday afternoon so I can tick it off my list for the weekend early and focus on fun things – like laundry and grocery shopping. Today, however, as I’m typing away, it’s Sunday night and I have been up since four this morning. I’m already in my jammies, my teeth are brushed, and I’m sleepy. But just as I was about to crawl into bed, I realized that I had been negligent in my duties and needed to get something hammered out and set up behind the scenes so I could forget about it for the rest of the week.
I’m feeling relaxed and cozy and definitely have been in a fairly specific music mood lately, so I know just the song to share. In 2018, Nieah released the single Nighty Night which promptly made it to one of my more chill playlists of crazy talented singer-songwriters. For those unfamiliar, Nieah is a self-producing R&B artist that debuted in 2013. She has an incredible voice – both singing and storytelling – and while I don’t think any of her stuff has thrust her into the big time, you’ll likely have heard her on an OST a time or two as she’s really started to pop up on some big titles lately.
Gosh, I love her voice.
I have never seen an official MV for Nighty Night, but that’s kind of great because you shouldn’t be watching a screen right before you go to bed. You should pop this on your bedtime playlist, close those peepers, and just let it lull you into a pleasant dream. And if you like it, look her up on your streaming service of choice, she’s got a ton of stuff and it’s all perfect for a moody chic-specific playlist. Promise.
Nighty Night, Nieah
